The Korean Society of Radiology (KSR) has initiated an International
Scholarship Program providing young radiologists in the Asian region a
chance to study at a Korean academic institute.
The KSR officially invites candidates from Asian countries to apply for the KRS International Fellowship.
KSR hopes this program will be a good chance to promote research by
Asian specialists in diagnostic radiology, contributing to
the distribution and improvement of diagnostic radiology in Asia and
encouraging mutual understanding as well as scientific cooperation.

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Singapore General Hospital is offering two 6 month fellowships in Breast Imaging for 2009.
Singapore General Hospital is the largest hospital in Singapore and the
Department of Diagnostic Radiology is the largest provider of
radiological services. The Breast Imaging section is staffed by 4
breast radiologists and is equipped with full-field digital
mammography, advanced breast ultrasound (including breast
elastography), magnetic resonance imaging and vacuum-assisted breast
biopsy system. We perform 8000 mammograms, 6000 breast ultrasounds and
500 breast biopsies annually.
Fellows will gain exposure and experience in:
- Full-field digital mammography
- Breast ultrasound and breast elastography
- Magnetic resonance imaging of the breasts
- Stereotactic and ultrasound-guided hookwire localisation
- Ultrasound-guided FNAC and core needle biopsies
- Stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsies
Research time will be provided for fellows to undertake a
breast-imaging related research project leading to publication, assist
in other research projects, perform audits and breast journal reviews.
A monthly stipend and re-imbursement of airfare are included in the
fellowship.
Applicants should have the following:
• Postgraduate medical qualification in radiology e.g. FRCR, MMed (Diagnostic Radiology) or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of postgraduate training experience in diagnostic
radiology (after obtaining the postgraduate medical qualification)
• Current position as Registrar, Resident or equivalent (Advanced Specialty Trainee level)
• Proven competency in English language
• Below 42 years old
• Experience in Breast Imaging is preferred
