Legal issues in Medical Imaging: What the Radiologist needs to know (28 Oct 09) Print E-mail

 Radiologists face unique legal issues with regards to medical imaging, for example regarding missed diagnoses, lack of clinical information, patient confidentiality, and consent.
 Ms Mak Wei Munn and Mr Tham Hsu Hsien, both partners from Allen & Gledhill who have extensive experience in medical law, gave a talk on these issues, followed by a discussion on real-life case studies and a question and answer session.

Following the very successful Dinner forum that was held on the evening of 7th August
2009, the CRS and SRS would like to continue the dialogue on matters that were raised during the session and also address some of the challenges in the very thought provoking lecture entitled ‘Does Radiology have a sell-by date?’ delivered by Prof Andy Adam, President of the Royal College of Radiologist UK.

In conjunction with the 43rd Singapore Malaysia Congress of Medicine, the College of Radiology and the Singapore Radiological Society co-organised a dinner forum, details of which were as follows:
